I write a journal most days and I will always ask my client if they write. Why? Because I know from experience the power of getting our thoughts out of our head and onto paper. The process of ‘dumping’ our thoughts lessens the burden and pain (of negative and unhelpful thoughts) and also gives us clarity and insight into the thoughts that matter. So when my friend/mentor Vickie suggested a 21-Day Blog Challenge I thought, 'Why not!' I’d written a craft blog for years, years ago and at the time it was ALL CONSUMING, that since I stopped writing it I’ve not been able to find middle ground. Well, for the next 21 days I will try my best to write every day (even if it is short and sweet).
The key to achieving what you want is preparation. Now, naturally I am a fly by the seat of your pants kind of girl. That's really great for some things BUT planning and routine ( something I have simply avoided in the past ) gives me freedom to participate fully in my life. So following Vickie’s suggestion I have a Blog Calender for the next 21 days, which consists of a few words to prompt me to write for the day.
Today’s writing prompt was “Setting Up for Success”. I came into my office, sat at my computer and knocked this first post out. Job done and now my day starts knowing that I have done what I have committed to. I hope you can share in my journey for the next 21 days and please let me know if there is something you’d like me to write about.
